Medicine Hat Public School Division requires the services of a Human Resources Manager. This urban public school division is located in the City of Medicine Hat and employs 1040 certified and non-certified staff in a central office, warehouse and 17 schools. This position will provide support to the Associate Superintendent - Human Resources as part of the HR team.
Key Responsibilities
Position focus on CUPE and non-certified employees.
- Planning, development, and co-ordination of a broad system of human resources policies and programs and ensures training and implementation.
- Recruitment, selection, talent management and succession planning.
- Contract negotiations.
- Employee relations, conflict resolution and coaching.
- Performance management systems.
- Job descriptions and compensation reviews.
- HR investigations.
- Supports managers/supervisors in the development and implementation of HR procedures and Division administrative procedures.
- Co-develops and implements HR strategic plans.
Requirements
Education and experience:
- Degree in Human Resources Management, or other relevant undergraduate degree and a minimum of three years related managerial experience.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of existing employment laws and regulations affecting human resources management.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in Human Resources field.
- Demonstrated managerial skills.
- CPHR designation.
