WEG Transformers USA (WTU) Location: Washington, Missouri | Full-Time | On-Site WEG 47,000+ global team members | 135+ countries | ~4,700 engineers worldwide
Hello, Engineer. Let's Talk Numbers:
At WEG, we speak your language: precision, performance, and purpose. With over 47,000 employees worldwide, including 4,700+ engineers, we're not just building machines—we're engineering a more efficient, sustainable future. Our U.S. operations continue to grow quickly which has prompted us to look for an additional Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Power Transformers team in Washington, Missouri.
If you're a detail-driven thinker who enjoys solving complex problems—and maybe even cracking a dry joke or two—you'll fit right in.
? What You'll Be Doing
You'll design 3-phase, 50/60 Hz power transformers up to 100,000 KVA and 161,000 volts. Your work will directly support our customers' energy infrastructure across the U.S. and beyond.
Your day-to-day might include:
Reviewing customer specs and translating them into engineering requirements
Designing tanks, accessories, and internal structures using 3D CAD
Performing structural calculations and preparing general arrangement drawings
Creating bills of materials and manufacturing documentation
Collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges
Writing manuals and work instructions (yes, we know—less glamorous, but still VERY important)
Why WEG?
We're not just another industrial manufacturer. At WEG, People Matter. We foster a Culture of Engagement where you can bring your whole self to work (within reason—and within our Code of Ethics and Values).
You can be you at WTU! Whether you're a recent grad from Mizzou, Missouri S&T (MUST Rolla), Missouri State, UMSL, or WashU, and/or a Veteran of the U.S. military, space, air, or naval forces with engineering experience—we'd love to hear from you!
