The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Development Engineer to join our Development Services team.
Reporting to the Manager Development Services, you will play a key role in assessing development proposals, providing practical engineering advice and ensuring infrastructure is delivered to a high standard.
What you will do:
- Provide clear, practical engineering advice on development applications
- Review designs to ensure they meet required standards
- Work closely with developers, consultants and internal teams
- Monitor construction and oversee infrastructure handover
- Help deliver development outcomes that are sustainable and fit for the future
Key tasks include:
- Assess civil designs and supporting documentation for development applications
- Provide timely, solutions-focused technical advice
- Review submissions for compliance with relevant standards
- Inspect construction works and monitor quality
- Manage asset handovers to ensure long-term performance
- Contribute to improving processes and standards
You will be part of a small, capable and supportive team, with the opportunity to work across a wide variety of development and infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on role where you will see the real impact of your work in the community.
This role is based at our Freeling office, with an easy commute from Adelaide.
About you:
We are looking for someone who is motivated, practical and enjoys working with others to get outcomes. You are a qualified Civil Engineer with experience in development, infrastructure or municipal engineering, and you are comfortable working with designs, standards and stakeholders.
You will bring:
- A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Around 2+ years’ experience (graduates with strong practical experience are encouraged to apply)
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Experience in development engineering, design review or project delivery will be highly regarded, along with an understanding of relevant standards and approval processes.
