Description
The Department of Atmospheric Sciences at National Taiwan University (DAS-NTU) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels, with the appointment beginning in August 2027. We invite applications from candidates whose research preferably focuses on, but is not limited to, the following areas:
1. Weather, Climate, and Multiscale Dynamics
Bridging weather and climate by investigating weather systems, extreme and high-impact weather, large-scale circulation, and their interactions across scales or among the atmosphere, ocean, and land under climate change.
2. Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry and Earth System Science
Investigating physical and chemical processes in the atmosphere, the exchange, transformation, and cycling of matter within the Earth system, or their impacts on climate and the environment.
Research may draw on one or more approaches, including Earth system modeling across scales, cloud-resolving simulations, advanced observations such as radar and satellite measurements, AI, and data science.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in atmospheric sciences or closely related fields, preferably with postdoctoral experience. They should also have the capability to develop unique and innovative research projects and be in enthusiastic in teaching and developing new courses covering emerging fields.
