Automation Engineer
Genuine Parts Company seeks Automation Engineers in Atlanta, GA.
Leverage advanced engineering expertise to drive automation solutions across NAPA's supply chain network. Design, implement, and optimize automated systems and new building launch to enhance efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence within distribution centers and logistics operations. Lead the deployment of innovative automation solutions, including storage systems, material handling equipment (MHE), and other automated technologies (GTP). Develop and document technical specifications, engineering standards, and operational procedures for automated systems. Lead and provide support for system and automation Testing (FAT, UAT etc.). Provide technical oversight, CFT leadership, and commissioning support for all engineering projects aimed at increasing capacity, throughput, and productivity through technology. Implement and refine engineering designs to reduce redundancies, improve material flow, and enhance overall system efficiency.
Must have a Bachelor's degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Logistics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Must have 5+ years of experience in supply chain automation engineering in Distribution, Fulfillment, or Manufacturing. Must include experience in designing and implementing automation solutions; developing engineering standards, productivity rates, and process improvement initiatives; and utilizing engineering economics, simulation modeling, and advanced data analytics. Must have Project Management Experience within AMR companies handling large scale budgets ($10MM+). Must have experience using CAD software and specialized knowledge of robotics management systems and simulation applications.
Estimated 25% Domestic Travel required. This role is being offered with a Hybrid Telecommuting Option, requiring 3 days per week onsite at a GPC location in metro Atlanta.
