Salary: $8,466.00 – $10,291.00 Monthly ($101,592.00 – $123,492.00 Annually)

About the Role:
The Town of Corte Madera is seeking a qualified code professional to join our Community Development Department. In this dual-role capacity, you will perform field building inspections and comprehensive plan reviews to ensure structural integrity and compliance with California Building Standards Codes (CBC, CRC, CEC, CMC, CPC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Review residential and commercial building, architectural, and structural plans for code compliance.
- Inspect residential and commercial structures during various stages of construction, alteration, and repair.
- Confer with architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners regarding code interpretations and building requirements.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare clear, concise reports.
Minimum Qualifications & Certifications:
- Experience: Equivalent to completion of high school supplemented by coursework in architecture, construction technology, engineering, or a related field, plus progressively responsible experience in building inspection or plan review.
- Certifications: Possession of a valid ICC B1-Residential Building Inspector certification is required at the time of appointment. (Additional ICC/IAPMO certifications in plan review, commercial building inspection, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems are highly desirable).
- License: A valid California Class C driver’s license.
