WE’RE HIRING — ICC BUILDING INSPECTOR - HYBRID
T.P.I. Building Code Consultants is expanding our team and looking for an experienced ICC-certified Building Inspector to join us!
We are seeking a highly qualified professional who holds either a:
Certified Building Official (CBO)
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus
OR
Master Code Professional (MCP)
$10,000 Sign-On Bonus
What We’re Looking For:
Current ICC certifications
CBO or MCP designation
Strong knowledge of building codes and code enforcement
Experience conducting residential and/or commercial inspections
Professional communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently while supporting a strong team environment
Municipal/code consulting experience is highly valued

Requirements
- Active ICC certification required
- Must hold either a Certified Building Official (CBO) or Master Code Professional (MCP) designation
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection, code enforcement, plan review, or municipal building department operations
- Extensive knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) and related ICC codes and standards
- Experience performing commercial and residential building inspections
- Strong understanding of structural, life-safety, accessibility, and general building code requirements
- Ability to interpret and enforce adopted building codes, ordinances, and regulations
- Experience working with contractors, architects, engineers, property owners, and the general public
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional inspection reports and documentation
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when evaluating code compliance
- Professional demeanor and commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Municipal building department or code consulting experience strongly preferred
- Must maintain all required ICC certifications and continuing education requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on assigned projects
