About the Role
The Chief/Director of Public Safety Programs provides strategic leadership for the Consortium Campus Public Safety Institute (CPSI) and advances public safety initiatives across member institutions. This innovative leader partners closely with campus police chiefs, emergency managers, and institutional leaders to strengthen training, expand professional development, and drive innovation in campus public safety.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction and growth of CPSI and related public safety initiatives.
Develop and oversee high-quality training programs rooted in 21st-century policing, evidence-based practices, and community engagement.
Manage CPSI, including instructor recruitment, program quality, and on-site training delivery.
Serve as a trusted partner to campus police chiefs, emergency managers, and regional public safety leaders.
Ensure operational excellence through effective budget management, partnerships, and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred in public safety, public administration, law enforcement, or related field.
Significant leadership experience in law enforcement, security, or public safety training.
Proven success developing, managing, and delivering training programs.
Experience in higher education, emergency management, or grant/funding development a plus.
