Position Summary
The Program Coordinator will oversee grant activities and provide training to Extension agents delivering the grant-supported Health Extension for Diabetes Program. The position will have scholarly work output in collaboration with grant Principal Investigator and other colleagues of the Department of Nutritional Sciences with the College of Family and Consumer Sciences at UGA .
This position is grant-funded and is expected to conclude two years from the start date. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon the availability of continued funding.

Program Coordination:
- Coordinate Extension and outreach programs and intiatives as assigned.
- Oversee program and research data collection and management.
- Contribute to data analysis, reporting to external oversight organizations and other stakeholders, scientific publication writing and review.
- Communicate with program and research staff, conduct site visits/audits, and provide technical assistance to program implementers.
- Support program evaluation and reporting to internal audiences.

Extension Content Development and Support:
- Review and revise chronic disease prevention and management education, curricula, and publications to reflect current health evidence and standards of practice.
- Develop and support training of Extension agents on revised curricula, publications, and related chronic disease prevention and management topics.
- Develop new Extension publications, newsletters, and social media content.

Training and Direct Education:
- Provide training to Extension faculty and staff and other audiences as appropriate (i.e. Family and Consumer Sciences teachers, school nutrition staff, community health volunteers) on nutrition and chronic disease prevention and management-related topics.
- Serve as an educator, lifestyle coach or facilitator for the delivery of assigned chronic disease prevention and self-management programs.

- Coordinate activities with graduate and undergraduate students, and interns. Schedule and supervise student workers as required for Extension program and initiative activities. Coordinate and lead teams of Extension agents to contribute to Extension curricula and publication revisions

- Assist with student research projects by reviewing student writing, providing input and feedback into student and lab research projects, and assisting with the dissemination of results through professional presentation and written opportunities

- Provide administrative support to the Extension Nutrition and Health Specialist, such as coordinating training workshops and educational events, scientific poster competitions at meetings, support judging and coordination of select 4-H events, and other duties as assigned
