Clinical Educator For Emergency Department Staff And New Hire OrientationResponsibilities The Clinical Educator for the Emergency Department staff and New Hire Orientation will be responsible and accountable for the planning, organizing, and evaluation of orientation for new employees and ongoing education for all employees of the Emergency Department. Assists with planning, organization, and coordination of all educational activities within the department. Coordinates and teaches the Emergency nurse course throughout the year. Provides input for hiring, evaluating, and termination process of staff. Involved in policy and procedure development, compliance with OSHA/TJC/ADA/DOH regulations, compliance with hospital rules and regulations, and implementing the Performance Improvement process. The clinical educator for the Emergency department and new hire orientation is accountable to the Director of Staff Development.
Qualifications Education Requirements: BSN required, MSN preferred (If master's in education, must have BSN – preferred Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or CNS/Nurse Practitioner. Experience: 3 years of direct Emergency Department Nursing Experience; 1- year previous Educator Experience Skills: Intermediate Computer Skills, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, excel License / Certification: Current Registered Nurse licensure, Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS Certification
