Description
Key responsibilities- Lead and maintain an effective compliance programme, policies, procedures and controls aligned to applicable local and cross-border regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, manage regulatory communications, inspections and remediation plans.
- Advise the business on new and changing regulations; perform impact assessments and drive implementation.
- Oversee financial crime compliance including AML/CTF, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud risk, and market conduct.
- Manage compliance monitoring, testing, surveillance and thematic reviews; report findings and track issues to closure.
- Own regulatory reporting and compliance attestations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and robust governance.
- Deliver training and foster a strong culture of ethics and compliance across the organisation.
- Partner with Risk, Legal, Internal Audit and Operations to strengthen the control environment and governance frameworks.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing compliance team; manage budgets and resourcing.
Requirements
- Extensive compliance experience in a regulated industry, with proven leadership at VP level or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of MAS and broader Asia-Pacific compliance considerations.
- Demonstrable expertise in AML/CTF, sanctions, conduct risk, conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, and regulatory change.
- Experience engaging with regulators and senior stakeholders, including Board and committee reporting.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, law or compliance certifications) preferred.
