Location: Hybrid/Remote | Itasca, IL
Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 annually

Position Summary:
NRCA is seeking an experienced and passionate safety professional to serve as its Director of Safety & Risk Management. This leadership role will drive the development and implementation of innovative safety and risk management initiatives that help roofing contractors reduce injuries, manage risk, and strengthen workplace safety.
As a trusted industry advocate and subject matter expert, the Director will play a critical role in helping member companies protect the health, safety, and well-being of their workforce while navigating the unique challenges of the construction and roofing industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment & Mitigation
Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks.
Evaluate emerging industry risks and recommend proactive solutions.
Member Support & Outreach
Serve as a trusted resource for NRCA members seeking guidance on safety and risk management issues.
Provide expert consultation and support related to industry best practices.
Regulatory Compliance
Monitor, interpret, and communicate regulatory developments affecting the roofing industry.
Develop strategies and resources to help members maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
Innovation & Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve safety programs, systems, technologies, and processes.
Recommend and implement innovative solutions that support organizational and member goals.
Training & Development
Assist in the creation and delivery of safety training programs, educational resources, and member outreach initiatives.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and safety excellence.
Industry Advocacy
Participate in industry committees, regulatory discussions, and safety-related activities.
Advocate on behalf of NRCA members and the roofing industry on key safety and risk management issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Risk Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in occupational safety, health, and risk management within the construction or roofing industry.
Professional certifications and designations related to occupational safety, health, or risk management are highly preferred.
Proven success developing and implementing risk management frameworks and strategies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
