BallenIsles Country Club, located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Dishwasher/Steward! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and food preparation equipment, as well as maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen and back-of-house areas. The Steward/Dishwasher ensures all areas are kept in inspection-ready condition in accordance with local health and company standards.
Essential Duties:
- Adhere to all sanitation standards in assigned areas at all times
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils and other minor equipment in the dish machine or in appropriate use of the triple sink compartment, following established procedures
- Maintain, clean, and ensure food preparation machines are in good working condition; alert chef or supervisor of any equipment breakdown or hazard issues
- Perform general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping and proper policing of all areas in the kitchen including behind cooking lines
- Assist in stocking and rotating of incoming products
- Check all chemical levels in machines and inventory
- Empty the kitchen trash receptacles and properly dispose of garbage; ensure waste bin area is kept clean and tidy
- Inspect and handle china, glassware, silverware, and other equipment with care; unload dish machines and sinks and store all dishes and other wares in proper areas
- Perform daily cleaning to include dry storage, walk-in shelving, steam tables, hoods and exhaust system
- Complete opening and closing procedures daily according to specification
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance
- Attend and be actively engaged in daily pre-shifts
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as required by management
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, reaches with hands and arms. Regularly talks or hears. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, tastes or smells. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and regularly lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Frequently works in extreme heat (non-weather), in areas with moving mechanical parts and with toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather). Noise level is moderate.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associate may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; manuals for the equipment the associate may use are in English).
