Description
The National at Ave Maria Golf Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Equipment Operator. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Employees should be attentive, alert, on time, properly attired, and ready to receive instruction promptly at the beginning of shift.
- At the end of shift, complete the daily log sheet to include Daily Standards and break log check off.
- Operates most, if not all, power equipment used in course maintenance.
- Riding mowers: fairway, approach, rough (small, intermediate, large).
- Walking mowers: green, tee, collar.
- Restricted use equipment: various sprayers (multi pro's, McGregor, AD Williams backpack), top dressers (walking, pull behind), tractors, loaders, aerators, verticutters, sod cutters.
- Small machinery: edger, string trimmer, flymo, chainsaw, backpack blower.
- Capable and proper use of all hand tools/equipment.
- Chemical applications: spray greens, tees, fairways, rough, and native areas using appropriate sprayers.
- Performs bunker maintenance: includes adding sand, and establishing a hard edge.
- Participate in irrigation practices: hand watering, syringing and repairs.
- Involved in course detail tasks: weed and debris clean-up, poa eradication, edge cart paths/tees, etc.
- Assist with course setup: moving tee markets, changing pin placements.
- Maintains equipment fluid levels: gasoline or diesel, oil, etc. (throughout the day).
- Reports equipment problems/failures to mechanics immediately and completes correct paperwork.
- Perform daily equipment repair and maintenance as directed by Head Mechanic.
- Ensures all equipment used is washed properly, returned to designated location and charging if applicable.
- Planting and maintenance of vegetative material.
- Transporting material.
- Involved in leading up small and large crews.
- Maintain proper radio etiquette and return radios to chargers when finished.
- Available for overtime as needed.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Maintains a professional standard at Juniper Preserve including, but not limited to, appearance, interaction with members, associates, guests of the club, verbal discussions and written correspondence. Does not discuss work related issues with members and resort guests.
- Supports and adheres to the CORE Values (i.e. "The T.R.I.P."), The Mission Statement, Service Fundamentals, and Guest Service Philosophy as defined by the company.
- Maintains a positive attitude and the flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the Director of Agronomy, Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Head Mechanic, Assistant Mechanic or Foreman.

- There are no supervisory responsibilities.

- No additional certifications, licenses, or registrations are required.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily outdoor shifts.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent or occasional need to perform the following activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. May have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to golf course maintenance.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on the telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to the general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
