Job Summary
The Experienced CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC and manual machining equipment to fabricate, repair, and maintain precision components and machinery. The role requires expertise in machining processes, blueprint reading, precision measurement, and maintaining tight tolerances while ensuring quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic presses, band saws, and other precision tools.
Fabricate and machine metal parts, tools, and components to required specifications.
Select, align, secure, and remove fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials safely.
Use inserts, fixtures, tooling, gauges, and precision measuring instruments to achieve required tolerances.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
Determine the appropriate machining tools and processes for assigned tasks.
Perform job setup on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and CNC turning centers.
Conduct routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Track jobs and parts using manufacturing management systems.
Coordinate work with production teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Work overtime and weekends as required.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
3–5 years of CNC machining experience preferred.
Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Okuma, and DMG/Mori CNC controls.
Experience maintaining precision tolerances up to 0.001".
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to machining.
Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
