- Field Operator
Description
Entry-level position responsible for assisting with the operation, inspection, maintenance, and general upkeep of HWSA’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems under the direction of the Field Operations Supervisor. Training will be provided, with responsibilities increasing as the employee develops the necessary knowledge and skills.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. Prior experience in water distribution, wastewater collection, mechanical maintenance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
The employee will be expected to obtain PADEP Collection System and Distribution System certifications withing two years of their hire date and a CDL Class B license with required endorsements after 18 months. The position requires the ability to learn mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related concepts; perform system maintenance; maintain accurate records; and follow all Authority and regulatory requirements.
The position operates seven days a week and requires participation in emergency call-in responsibilities. The employee must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around moving mechanical equipment, confined spaces, elevated spaces, and other water and wastewater infrastructure. CPR and First Aid certification will be required after six months of employment.
