Job Description – Full Time Forensic Structural Engineer
Description:
Provide professional structural engineering analysis and consultation to LGI’s Clients.
Conduct on-site investigations including structural evaluations, plan reviews, existing document reviews, visual observation, and engaging in interviewing points of contact.
Research by utilizing available resources including building department records, codes, standards, textbooks, handbooks, technical papers, and the internet to obtain the knowledge necessary to perform and back up the analysis.
Document existing site conditions using scaled sketches, diagrams, measurements, and anomalies found at the scene, as well as photographs.
Prepare accurate and concise reports or notes to file outlining the origin and cause of the damages.
Use understanding and knowledge of engineering principles and methods, codes, industry standards, and previous experience to analyze data and determine the cause, origin, and extent of damage and failure for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Assist other consultants and engineers with special projects and research, including assistance in the lab.
Follow established policies, procedures, and processes.
Provide expert testimony if required.
Requirements
P.E. License is a plus
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision to complete investigations and reports in a timely manner.
Possess exceptional technical writing skills.
Must be able to communicate technical issues clearly and concisely.
Previous experience is a must and salary is commensurate with experience.
Successfully pass LGI’s background check.
