Overview

Full-time Golf Course Superintendent opportunity at The Club at Cordillera Mountain in Edwards, Colorado. The role is focused on contributing to a positive experience for members and guests while continuing to grow knowledge of golf club operations as part of Troon.

Essential Responsibilities

• Aid the Director of Agronomy with preparing and maintaining the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
• Plan, organize, direct, and perform tasks related to proactively minimizing and mitigating turf damage, including elk, mechanical and machine, vole, desiccation, ice, and snow mold damage.
• Safely operate and coordinate the use of dump trucks, snow removal equipment, snowcat, and snowmobiles during winter operations.
• Plan and direct proper winterization of the golf course, including fencing, tarping, end-of-season agronomy practices, irrigation winterization, and chemical applications.
• Maintain working knowledge of and provide recommendations on agronomy programs for the course's water, soil, and turf types.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot water delivery components such as valves, pumps, filtration equipment, motors, drives, and communication systems.
• Measure, estimate, calculate, and record water diversions for required legal reporting.
• Develop and preserve property water rights.
• Patrol irrigation ditches to detect leaks and weak areas, remove debris, and make repairs to ditch banks, structures, gates, access roads, and paths.
• Prepare reports on the condition of and repairs needed for ditches, irrigation systems, and related equipment.
• Ensure ditches and associated diversion and delivery structures are maintained and repaired proactively.
• Oversee timely repairs to broken water lines, heads, and valves, and perform repairs as needed.
• Ensure proper finish of sodding, drainage work, and various projects associated with course maintenance.
