Growing together.The Healthcare Delivery Intern - Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety position will assist in conducting Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) fit testing to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role provides an opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience in occupational health and safety while contributing to the overall effectiveness of the organization's fit testing initiatives.
This is a paid, full-time summer internship requiring Monday through Friday availability. The program is expected to run through August/September, with the exact start date to be determined.
Interns will be required to travel to clinics across a designated territory and will work from the office in Lake Success when not in the field. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of fit testing for various clinics throughout the organization
- Assist in preparing and maintaining fit testing equipment and materials
- Conduct pre-test screenings and educate participants on proper fit testing protocols
- Document test results accurately and maintain records in accordance with organizational policies
- Collaborate with team members to analyze data and identify trends related to fit testing outcomes
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of respiratory protection programs
- Assist in developing educational materials for employees
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the RPP by providing feedback on processes

Required Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in an accredited college / university during the duration of the internship (internships are not intended for graduating seniors)
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Nursing, Public Health, Occupational Health, Healthcare Administration or related Healthcare/Medical undergraduate degree
- Proven solid attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Access to reliable transportation to enable travel to clinics across a designated territory; public transportation is acceptable
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $21.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
