Description
Position Title: Intern - Corporate Health and Safety
Location: Des Moines, IA, United States
Description:
MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented college intern to join our Health and Safety team and gain hands-on experience supporting these critical efforts. The intern will assist with the development and maintenance of safety training materials and reports, support the coordination and logistics of safety meetings, training events, and help ensure safety resources are well organized, accessible, and aligned with corporate standards. This role is ideal for a student eager to learn and interested in contributing to meaningful safety initiatives that protect our people and the communities we serve. This position includes some travel/overnight travel within MidAmerican service territory. This position is temporary, nonexempt, and full-time/hourly through the summer.

Qualifications:
Skills for Success
- Strong technical skills in web development and content management, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience managing SharePoint sites.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
- Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Safety, Ergonomics, Occupational Safety or a related field.
- Must be available May - August 2026
