Job Description
To act as a strategic partner across all service lines, providing the discipline that secures EFG's growth ambitions. The role owns the group-wide investment risk and analytics agenda, transforming complex market data into actionable conviction and embedding institutional-grade oversight across Advisory, New Capital, and Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM).
Combining deep technical expertise with a broad strategic remit, this position sets direction for investment risk frameworks, leads cross-functional initiatives, and ensures that risk-intelligent growth is consistently delivered across the franchise
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Framework Ownership:
- Define and own the investment risk and analytics framework for Advisory, ensuring consistency, robustness, and alignment with EFG's risk appetite and investment philosophy.
- Translate the global investment strategy into concrete risk and analytics standards, methodologies, and processes across Advisory, New Capital, and DPM.
- Act as the recognised senior authority on investment risk and analytics, providing guidance to senior management and key governance bodies
- Ownership of Portfolio Risk Measurement for Advisory
- Own the end-to-end Product and Portfolio Risk Measurement for Advisory, including: the Product Risk Classification (PRC) and the related quality controls and the aggregation to a portfolio risk measurement
- Lead the Globalization of the Product and Portfolio Risk Measurement for Advisory into Asia with the result that around the globe EFG uses consistent and aligned risk measurements
- Define and lead the evolution from todays Prodcut risk Score to a more sophisticated, Aladdin-enabled measures (e.g. factor-based risk, scenario analysis, stress testing, liquidity and concentration metrics).
- Ensure that Portfolio Risk Measurement for Advisory is fully embedded in advisory processes, portfolio construction, and client communication.
- Risk-Driven Culture & Franchise Leadership:
- Lead a cultural shift in the first line of defence by positioning risk management as a core part across all our solutions.
- Drive the adoption of independent, high-quality risk analytics on funds and portfolios, and embed portfolio risk measurement into everyday practices.
- Lead and deliver multiple cross-functional projects to enhance investment risk and analytics frameworks, using these initiatives to strengthen each franchise, improve transparency, and demonstrate that disciplined risk management supports better, faster, and more confident investment decisions.
- CIO Investment Framework
- Play a key role in shaping the bank's long-term investment stance by contributing to the quantitative process and qualitative overlay for 7-10 year Capital Market Assumptions and their translation into strategic asset allocation.
- Actively engage in the Global Investment Committee to challenge risk-taking, ensure portfolios remain aligned with the house view, and bring a disciplined risk and analytics perspective into core investment governance.
- Innovation and Automation: Actively seek to introduce new ideas-including Power BI dashboards, intranet enhancements, and process automation-to improve transparency and efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in Banking and Finance.
- Certification: CFA Level III, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and technical excellence.
- Experience: at least 8-10 years of experience within the bank, with a proven track record of delivering analytical and project-based value across investment areas.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Excel, Python Bloomberg, and Power BI, alongside experience with risk engines like Aladdin is a plus.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of investment products, risk concepts, and cross-asset correlations.
