Description
Description:- Set up, adjust and operate tracer lathes, cutoff saw and miscellaneous machining equipment to perform a variety of machining operations of a roughing nature and standardized work to close tolerances.
- Speeds, feeds and operational sequences usually established but operator may adjust or modify within standard machining practice.
- Work from routings, process sheets and blueprints to perform roughing operations. Select tools to meet requirements and operating conditions.
- Ensure heat number traceability.
- Initiate process change requests and maintain accurate records of operations.
- Perform machine clean-outs and other general labor as needed.
- General knowledge of machining practices.
- Minimum of 1 year CNC machining knowledge.
- Knowledge of shop math and blueprints.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. and perform repetitive, heavy pushing and pulling.
