Description
The Manager – Compliance and Monitoring is primarily responsible for managing the daily activities of the staff, organizing, and assisting with ongoing compliance and monitoring activities. This is a Mid-Level Management position responsible for assisting in the planning and supervision of compliance and monitoring operations activities for the LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport campuses. The manager will assist in monitoring the LSU Ethics, Integrity, and Misconduct Helpline for incoming reports of alleged misconduct; monitor laws, regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and best practices; and communicate any updates to the Chief Compliance and Risk Management Officer, other departmental leadership, and staff regularly. The manager will also provide guidance and advice and participate in providing training to all internal stakeholders to improve their understanding of related laws, policies, procedures, and potential risks.
This position reports to the Chief Compliance and Risk Management Officer and other Office of Compliance and Risk Management leadership. Regular attendance is required to perform its functions. It is NOT a remote position.
Essential Position Functions & Duties
40% Compliance and Monitoring Operations Management
This is a Mid-Level Management position responsible for assisting in the planning and supervision of compliance and monitoring activities for the LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport campuses. This position is responsible for assisting the Chief Compliance and Risk Management Officer and other departmental leadership in addressing all aspects of compliance, such as research compliance, clinical trials compliance, HIPAA, FERPA, and institutional and organizational compliance. The assistant manager will also assist in monitoring the LSU Ethics, Integrity, and Misconduct Helpline for incoming reports of alleged misconduct; monitor laws, regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and best practices.
Maintains regular communication with the Chief Compliance and Risk Management Officer and other departmental leadership.
40% Compliance and Monitoring Activities
Provide risk management consultation or risk assistance to LSU Health Shreveport administration and departments. In collaboration with administration and departments, identify, assess, evaluate, and mitigate or control operational, compliance, reputational, financial, strategic, and other risks affecting LSU Health Shreveport. Collaborates with departments to monitor and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding occupational health, safety, and risk exposure. Ensures the LSU Health Shreveport campus's compliance with occupational safety regulations and risk mitigation policies. Monitor the implementation of the progress of activities to address risks as agreed on and revise risk response as needed.
10% Staffing and Management
Provide subject matter expertise and support to the Chief Compliance and Risk Management Officer and other departmental leadership. Participate in effectively supervising, managing, motivating, training, and developing a high-performing team of compliance and risk management professionals. The manager will also provide guidance and advice and participate in providing training to all internal stakeholders to improve their understanding of related laws, policies, procedures, and potential risks.
10% Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
The applicant must meet the following:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field, plus (4) years of in-depth experience in Risk Management, Compliance, or Audit.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Risk Management, Compliance, or Auditing. The following Certifications are preferred: Certified Risk Management Professional( CRMP), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from the Health Care Compliance Association; Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors; Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
