About the RoleThis role provides comprehensive occupational health nursing services to support employee health, safety, and wellness in a workplace setting. The Nurse III manages work-related and non-work-related cases, supports regulatory medical programs, and collaborates with safety and leave management teams. The position plays a key role in preventive care, compliance, and employee well-being initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational health nursing care for work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses
- Perform case management in collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety teams
- Coordinate post-incident and for-cause drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy
- Administer immunizations, vaccinations, and over-the-counter medications as appropriate
- Support OSHA-required medical surveillance programs, including audiometric, respiratory, vision, and urine testing
- Conduct return-to-work screenings in coordination with leave of absence teams
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Prepare reports and assist in developing medical procedures and clinical protocols
- Support health and wellness initiatives such as flu shots, blood drives, and health fairs
- Ensure medical equipment and supplies are sanitized, stocked, and ready for use
- Provide health education and refer employees to physicians when advanced care is required
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed with a State Board of Nursing
- High school diploma or equivalent plus additional education and/or related experience
- Current AED and CPR certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 5+ years of nursing experience
- Occupational health nursing experience
- Certification in audiometric and spirometry testing
- Experience with Cal/OSHA reporting and assessment standards
