As SoftBank continues to scale our presence in physical AI and advanced automation, we are building a collaborative, high-performance environment that values curiosity, operational excellence, and disciplined execution.
Position Summary
The On-Site Robotics Integration Lead is responsible for overseeing the deployment, integration, and day-to-day operational performance of autonomous and semi-autonomous construction equipment at assigned project sites.
This role serves as the on-the-ground technical lead for robotics integration, ensuring that automated systems are deployed safely, aligned with field operations, and positioned to improve productivity, efficiency, and execution quality across the site.
This position is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with experience in industrial automation or autonomous systems and the ability to bridge advanced technology with the realities of a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Robotics Deployment and Operations
- Oversee all on-site automation efforts and serve as the primary technical expert for robotic systems
- Manage the deployment, calibration, and daily operation of autonomous and semi-autonomous equipment
- Monitor fleet performance and ensure systems are operating safely, reliably, and in alignment with project needs
Vendor and Technical Coordination
- Act as the primary operational liaison with robotics vendors and external technical partners
- Manage service expectations, coordinate support needs, and assist in resolving technical issues in the field
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support successful implementation and ongoing system performance
Workflow Integration and Field Execution
- Develop and refine workflows for human-robot collaboration to support safe and efficient interaction between automated equipment and site personnel
- Ensure robotics operations are integrated effectively with traditional construction workflows and site execution plans
- Support field teams in adapting to new technologies, processes, and operating requirements
Performance Analysis and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze operational data from the robotics fleet to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and improve overall performance
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support optimization, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Contribute feedback from field deployment to inform future improvements in system design and implementation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with the deployment and operation of industrial automation or autonomous systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, field-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to support complex technical systems in live operational settings
Preferred
- Direct experience managing autonomous vehicle fleets in challenging, unstructured environments such as mining, agriculture, logistics, or construction
- Deep technical knowledge of autonomy-enabling technologies, including LiDAR, radar, GPS, RTK, and vehicle control systems
- Experience with software platforms used for autonomous fleet management, teleoperation, and operational analytics
- Familiarity with robotics integration in heavy equipment or industrial field operations
Work Environment
This role is 100% on-site and dedicated to an assigned project location, such as Juno, TX. As we continue to scale, additional project sites may be located in rural or non-metropolitan areas and require full-time on-site presence.
The position involves frequent coordination with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, vendors, and project leadership.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a self-directed, fast-paced, evolving environment, managing competing priorities, and maintaining strong attention to detail while ensuring on-site execution.
