The Senior Building Construction Inspector performs inspections in building construction, electrical, plumbing or mechanical installations. The specific area of responsibility depends upon State of Florida certification requirements and actual trades experience. The Senior Building Construction Inspector ensures compliance with building plans, established codes, regulations and technical guidelines and prepares concise accurate reports of the inspections for superiors.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Five (5) years combined experience in the field of construction, building code inspection, plans review or a related field.
- Considerable knowledge of building construction methods, procedures, materials practices and techniques including applicable federal, state, county and Village ordinances and standards.
- Firsthand knowledge of building, electrical, gas, plumbing, mechanical and fire codes.
- Standard Certifications as an Inspector with the State of Florida in at least two (2) disciplines of Inspection (i.e., Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural or 1 & 2 Family plus one (1) commercial discipline).
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License with a good driving record.
