We are looking to add new talentto our growing team! We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Senior Chemical/Environmental Engineer or Environmental Scientist 3 (specializing in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Regulatory Compliance) to lead high-performing teams, cultivatedeep client relationships, and deliver innovative solutions. The is a full-time role and basedin either our Costa Mesa, CA or San Diego, CA office.
In this position, you will havean opportunity to play a key role in delivering strategic value and drivingmeaningful outcomes for our clients and team. You will act as a seller/doer,developing and maintaining client relationships, leading multi-disciplinaryproject teams, executing high-quality deliverables, and mentoring junior staff.Your expertise will guide technical execution and proactive compliancestrategies, helping clients navigate complex regulations and implementeffective EHS programs. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:
- Lead and grow the company's portfolio by developing and maintaining strategic client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving significant revenue growth.
- Oversee large, complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet technical, budgetary, and client satisfaction goals. Serve as a senior leader on project teams and oversee all phases of service delivery.
- Build and guide high-performance teams, fostering a collaborative environment. Mentor emerging talent and promote staff development through hands-on coaching and leadership during project execution.
- Contribute to the company's long-term strategy by identifying new markets, services, and technologies, and leading proposals for high-impact projects.
- Actively participate in professional organizations, representing the company, providing thought leadership, and influencing industry trends.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
- Demonstrate our foundational safety behaviors.
- Provide senior technical and strategic leadership for EHS regulatory compliance programs, including RCRA compliance, with an emphasis on clients in California.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills andRequirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in EHS regulatory compliance, RCRA compliance, or related technical areas, with a proven track record of driving business growth through client relationships and leadership in complex projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in both business development and project leadership, with experience safely and profitably leading multiple projects simultaneously and managing client portfolios.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and lead client and internal discussions effectively.
- Proven leadership experience in building and managing diverse teams, mentoring staff, and fostering collaboration.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic growth, client needs, and company profitability.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional registration or certification in a relevant field is preferred, such as PE, CSP, or CIH.
- Significant experience in California EHS compliance markets, with established relationships and insights into industry trends.
- Experience presenting at conferences, writing articles or contributing thought leadership within professional organizations.
- A passion for continuous learning and innovation, staying at the forefront of industry developments.
The salary range for this position in Costa Mesa, CA and San Diego, CA is $105,000-$170,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
