Senior & Lead Java Engineers | Low Latency, Exchange & Risk Systems | Hong Kong

Are you a strong Java engineer who wants to build performance-critical systems at the heart of a global digital asset exchange?

I'm working with one of the world's most technologically advanced institutional digital asset platforms to hire multiple Senior and Lead Java Engineers in Hong Kong.

Processing over US$1 billion in daily trading volume, the company is building regulated, institutional-grade market infrastructure spanning ultra-low-latency execution, exchange connectivity, and real-time risk.

Current Opportunities Core Exchange Engineering

1. Build ultra-low-latency services powering trade sequencing, matching, and market interaction.
2. Develop performance-critical Java microservices using lock-free and garbage-free techniques.
3. Optimise latency, throughput, concurrency, and memory management.
4. Ideal for engineers from HFT, trading, exchanges, or high-performance infrastructure.

Risk Engineering

1. Build real-time services covering margin, exposure, stress scenarios, and liquidation.
2. Translate complex financial and quantitative models into robust production systems.
3. Develop low-latency JVM services with zero-allocation hot paths.
4. Partner with quantitative analysts, product teams, and technical leadership.

What We're Looking For

1. At least five years of strong Java backend engineering experience.
2. Deep knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, JVM performance, and memory optimisation.
3. Experience building high-throughput, event-driven, or distributed systems.
4. Strong understanding of clean architecture, microservices, automated testing, and TDD.
5. An ownership-driven mindset and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
6. Financial markets experience is highly advantageous but not essential for exceptional engineers.
7. Leadership or mentoring experience is preferred for Lead-level candidates.

Technology

1. Java, Kotlin, Python, and Go.
2. Chronicle Queue, Aeron, Kafka, Redis, Flink, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
3. Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and GitOps.
4. Microservices and high-throughput, event-driven architecture.
