An outstanding opportunity to join a privately owned, highly profitable property development and construction group delivering large scale, mixed use developments across Sydney.

This organisation has built a strong reputation for quality and delivery, with a substantial pipeline of residential and commercial projects already underway. With continued growth, they are looking to add a Senior Legal Counsel to their in house legal team.


The Opportunity

Reporting directly to a highly regarded General Counsel, this is a hands on, senior role offering genuine breadth and exposure across the full property development lifecycle. You will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams, playing a key role in shaping commercial outcomes across major projects.

This role would suit a property focused lawyer seeking:

• Increased autonomy and senior stakeholder access
• A long term, career building in house position

Key Responsibilities

You will advise on a wide range of property, construction, and commercial matters, including:

• Acquisitions and disposals, leasing, finance, construction, and development projects
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of property and commercial contracts
• Overseeing due diligence processes and identifying legal and commercial risks
• Partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver pragmatic legal advice
• Supporting dispute and litigation matters as required
• Mentoring and supporting junior legal team members

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• At least 5 years PQE as a property or property/commercial lawyer (law firm or in house)
• Strong knowledge of property and construction law and market practice
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to work autonomously in a fast paced, commercial environment
• Litigation experience is advantageous but not essential
