Position Status: Temporary Full Time (76hrs p.f.)

Purpose of the Advanced Trainee Role
There is considerable flexibility to accommodate the special interests and advanced training plan of the trainee for a six (6) month term in community/developmental paediatrics to leadership opportunities around respiratory, emergency, neonatal, critical care and retrieval, cardiology, neurology, especially those on a dual qualification or general-with-interest pathway, and including research and nurturing of professional qualities required for completion of paediatric fellowship.
Provide a comprehensive child and family-centred care under supervision of the consultant Paediatricians.
Scope of role encompasses service multidisciplinary team planning, delivery of care in the areas of emergency, inpatient neonatal, child and adolescent health, outpatients, public health, Indigenous health, mental health, child protection, child development and community paediatrics.
There is scope for a Peer Review period for OTP who are working towards the FRACP, with custom made rostering for pre-consultant role preparation. This would include opportunities for independent practice with consultant supervision at a distance (Level 4 supervision), in the form of doing independent clinics, leading ward rounds, etc., as well as opportunities to provide after-hours/first on-call cover, again with appropriate consultant supervision at a distance.
Vaccine Preventable Disease Requirements
- It is a condition of this role for the employee to be and remain vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the attached role description.
