Description
The CompanyOur client is a long-established, purpose-led organisation operating within a regulated environment, with a strong reputation for governance, accountability and long-term sustainability. Having invested heavily in strengthening its risk and compliance capability in recent times, the organisation is committed to embedding a proactive, business-partnering approach to risk across the enterprise.
As such, an opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Compliance professional to join a collaborative and high-performing team in a pivotal role.
The Role
This is a broad and visible Senior Risk & Compliance Analyst position, sitting at the intersection of business operations and governance. Reporting to an experienced Senior Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing evolution of the organisation's risk and compliance frameworks while partnering closely with stakeholders to uplift capability and maturity.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Working across the full risk lifecycle, including facilitating risk workshops, refining risk profiles, and assessing control effectiveness and mitigation strategies.
- Contributing to assurance activities, thematic reviews and incident analysis to support a more proactive, forward-looking approach to risk management.
- Translating risk and compliance data into clear, meaningful reporting for senior leadership and governance forums.
- Ownership of dashboards and key metrics, ensuring outputs are accurate, insightful and support informed decision-making.
- Support regulatory compliance activities, including maintaining obligations frameworks, contributing to reviews and uplift initiatives, and responding to regulatory changes.
- Operating in a hands-on capacity with broad exposure across risk, compliance and governance activities.
- Maximising the effectiveness of the organisation's GRC platform by improving data capture, analysis and reporting.
- Assessing and enhancing system workflows, provide user support and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and generate better risk insights.
In addition, you will contribute to broader governance and resilience activities, supporting audit processes, business continuity and crisis management exercises, and helping ensure governance processes and documentation are robust and fit for purpose.
Your Profile
You are an experienced risk and compliance professional with a background in a complex or regulated environment, bringing a strong grasp of contemporary risk management practices. Comfortable working across both risk and compliance domains, you will be someone who understands how to balance technical rigour with commercial pragmatism.
You may come from financial services, superannuation, insurance or a similarly regulated sector, and will ideally have had exposure to evolving regulatory standards (such as CPS 230 or equivalent frameworks). Experience working with GRC systems such as Protecht or Archer would also be particularly beneficial.
Beyond your technical capability, you are a strong communicator who can build credibility with stakeholders across departments and disciplines and be seen as an approachable provider of clear, practical advice for the benefit of the organisation as a whole. You should be a relationship builder and naturally curious individual with a solutions-oriented mindset who is confident navigating ambiguity, with the ability to distil complex information into clear insights.
Taking ownership of your work, you will operate with a high level of accountability, and enjoy working in an environment where you can influence outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement. This role will suit someone looking to step into a broader, more commercially engaged risk position with strong exposure to senior stakeholders and enterprise-wide initiatives.
You will be joining a collaborative and high-performing team where risk is genuinely valued as a driver of better decision-making, rather than just a control function. For a Risk and Compliance professional looking to take their career to the next level and with a business with a great culture and reputation, this is an outstanding opportunity.
