On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Senior Risk Manager- Strategic Programme for a 12 month contract based in Kildean/Edinburgh. It will be a hybrid model.

Purpose of the role:
This role provides independent Risk & Compliance oversight of M&G's major transformation and strategic programmes. Working within the second line of defence (2LOD), the Senior Risk Manager ensures programmes are designed and delivered in line with regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and customer outcome expectations. The position acts as the key liaison between programme teams and the wider Risk & Compliance function, providing challenge, assurance, and specialist expertise throughout programme delivery, implementation, and benefits realisation.
What you'll do:
- Provide independent Risk & Compliance (R&C) oversight and challenge for major strategic transformation programmes.
- Support Executive and Board decision-making through integrated R&C opinions on business cases, programme readiness, operating models, regulatory impacts, and implementation risks.
- Review and assess proposed operating model and control framework changes to ensure they are practical, effective, and aligned with business objectives.
- Evaluate programme compliance with regulatory requirements, Consumer Duty obligations, and customer outcome expectations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive 2LOD Risk & Compliance engagement strategy across the programme lifecycle.
- Coordinate R&C subject matter experts, assurance activities, governance participation, key review points, and reporting requirements.
- Promote strong governance, compliance, and ethical conduct while role modelling M&G's values and inclusive leadership behaviours.
The skills you'll need:
- Significant experience overseeing major strategic transformation or change programmes.
- Significant experience assessing business cases and operating model design.
- Significant experience producing assurance reports or risk opinions for Board-level governance forums.
- Compliance or conduct experience inc. Consumer Duty.
- Ability to engage credibly with Executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of risk management and control environments.
- Significant Financial Services experience.
