Description
PICCO Structures is a specialist structural engineering consultancy focused on technically demanding and signature projects where conventional solutions are not enough. We work alongside architects, contractors, developers and public agencies on complex buildings, temporary works and construction engineering throughout North America and internationally. Our work spans some of the world's most technically challenging structures, combining engineering ingenuity with the practical application of leading technology.
We bring deep experience across diverse industry sectors and construction types, combining local knowledge with international best practices to deliver innovative, functional solutions. A culture of continuous learning keeps our team at the forefront of advances in structural engineering.
What You’ll Work On
Our portfolio includes complex temporary works for major transit infrastructure, high-rise buildings, heritage structures, custom residences, and architecturally significant projects requiring advanced structural analysis and innovative design.
- Temporary works and construction engineering – temporary bracing and independent support systems for historic façade retention, traffic decks over open excavations, equipment and access platforms, staged construction sequences developed directly with contractors and trades, and specialized shoring and excavation support for constrained urban sites.
- Mid- and high-rise buildings – new construction, renovations, adaptive re-use and overbuild projects across the institutional, cultural, commercial, hospitality and residential sectors, using reinforced concrete, structural steel and mass timber.
- High-end custom homes – bespoke new residences, major renovations and additions, working directly with homeowners, architects and builders to deliver architecturally ambitious homes across a broad range of project scales.
What You’ll Do

- Stay hands-on throughout project delivery, including preparing calculations and specifications, directing and reviewing drawings, and resolving technical issues during construction.
- Coordinate and collaborate with clients, architects, consultants and contractors throughout design and construction, serving as a primary technical point of contact.
- Seal and take professional responsibility for your projects as Engineer of Record in accordance with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) requirements.
- Attend site for general review and contract administration, providing first-hand assessment of structural work as constructed.
- Participate in business development by preparing proposals, developing client relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat and follow-on work.
