Description
The Travelers Indemnity Company has an opening for a Software Engineer II in St. Paul, Minnesota. This position is hybrid; may work from home up to 2 days per week, as permitted.
Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions (includes defining technical requirements) with a high degree of accuracy and speed, operating as an individual contributor to team goals. Perform analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents of advanced complexity and escalate appropriately. Work independently to tackle well scoped and loosely scoped problems. Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees.
Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or a related STEM field and at least 2 years of experience as a Software Developer or in a related role. Must also possess the following: at least 2 years of experience with premium audit systems or insurance domain applications; at least 2 years of experience with Programming Languages & Frameworks: Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React.js, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript; at least 2 years of experience with Databases: DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB; at least 2 years of experience with Cloud & Containerization: AWS (Serverless/EKS), Docker, Kubernetes; at least 2 years of experience with Testing Tools: JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, automated testing frameworks, Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology; at least 2 years of experience with Eventing Systems: Kafka, RabbitMQ; at least 2 years of experience with Monitoring & Observability: Dynatrace; and at least 1 year of experience with AI/ML Enablement: Programmatic LLM interactions, agentic design patterns, prompt engineering, AI coding assistant tools.
