Job Summary
An organization is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (Journeyman) to support advanced modeling and simulation environments. This role focuses on component-level software testing, validating system performance, and ensuring software quality prior to full system integration.
What You Can Expect to Do:
Write and execute test cases for individual software components
Document test processes, execution results, and findings
Analyze test reports and performance metrics
Validate software functionality prior to system integration
Use command-line tools, scripts, and test stubs/mocks for validation
Identify, document, and report software defects using tracking tools
Participate in software design reviews and provide feedback on requirements and performance
Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues
Support testing activities within Linux-based and DevOps environments
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR High School diploma with relevant experience
3+ years of experience in software testing
Experience with component-level testing of software modules
Experience developing test plans and test cases
Proficiency with command-line tools, scripting, and testing techniques
Experience working in Linux environments
Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
Experience using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in Agile environments (sprints, PI planning, etc.)
Experience with testing tools such as gcov
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
Experience supporting modeling and simulation environments
Experience with automated testing
Experience supporting DoD-related programs
