Description
We are currently supporting our client in the search for a Trade Compliance Specialist (m/f/d) based in Rotkreuz. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role within a well-established, globally operating environment, where you can make an immediate and visible impact while working in a highly collaborative and cross-functional setting.About Our Client
As part of the Import, Export & Customs department in Rotkreuz, you will join a team responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing goods at the site. This function plays a critical role in ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations in dealings with authorities, as well as adherence to internal compliance standards. In addition, the team acts as a key partner to internal stakeholders, providing expert support and guidance on topics related to import, export, customs, transportation, and international trade.
Your Responsibilities
- Act as a key driver of export control compliance at the Rotkreuz site, partnering closely with the Local Export Control Officer (LECO) to ensure seamless and compliant operations
- Take ownership of sanctions list, embargo, and dual-use screenings in SAP GTS, proactively resolving and releasing system blocks to keep business moving
- Ensure accurate classification of goods in line with export control regulations and manage export license applications end-to-end
- Maintain precise customs tariff classifications (Tares) in accordance with Harmonized System rules, enabling smooth cross-border flows
- Be the go-to expert for determining and documenting preferential origin and other trade-relevant attributes of goods
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external partners, providing clear guidance, training, and hands-on support on trade compliance topics
- Act as a trusted interface to authorities, service providers, and suppliers, managing communication in both German and English
- Contribute actively to cross-functional and interdisciplinary projects, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence
Your Profile
- Several years of professional experience in customs and export control, with solid knowledge of foreign trade laws and regulations, including US export control law
- Broad expertise and strong know-how in customs regulations
- Strong operational process understanding combined with strategic thinking skills
- High level of assertiveness, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Independent, structured, and precise working style, with strong problem-solving abilities
- Team-oriented mindset and enjoyment of collaborative work
- Very good IT skills (MS Office, SAP considered an advantage)
- Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken, are required
- Start date: asap
- Planned Duration of Employment: 12 months, temp contract
