Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs in an outpatient clinic setting
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to complete evaluations, progress notes, reports, and discharge summaries
- Guide and monitor patient care across all aspects of treatment and follow-up, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Supervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and coordinate scheduling with front office staff
- Maintain accurate patient chart documentation including prescriptions, test results, and authorizations, while adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable federal and state regulations
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Physical Therapist license in California or eligibility to obtain licensure in the near future
- Proficiency with EMR systems and general computer skills including word processing and internet navigation
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and PT billing procedures including Medicare, workers' compensation, and private pay
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, assist with patient transfers, and remain physically mobile including standing and walking for 8–10 hour shifts
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Completion of continuing education courses relevant to physical therapy practice
- Familiarity with outpatient or rehabilitation clinic environments and associated workflows
